Mixed Nuts with Crispy Sage and Garlic

Featured as one of the recipes in my Rabbit Hill Kitchen, Winter Market-to-Table online workshop, this is an addictive, salty and flavorful mix of crispy herbs and garlic - perfect for cocktail hour!

INGREDIENTS

  • ¼ cup olive oil

  • 16 slices of garlic

  • 1 cup sage leaves (about 12 large leaves)

  • Three sprigs rosemary

  • 4 cups mixed pecans and almonds (roasted and lightly salted)

METHOD

Heat olive oil and add thin slices of garlic. Slowly brown until golden, being careful not to burn. You may have to remove from the heat multiple times.

Chiffonade the sage leaves and add to the warming oil with the rosemary leaves.

Once the herbs are crispy, pour mixture over nuts and toss until covered with herbs and oil.

Serve warm or store in an airtight container for 24 hours.
