Set of Four Ironstone Yogurt Jars
Made of robust ironstone porcelain, crocks or jars were commonplace in the French kitchen for making yogurt and cheese. These hexagon shaped jars were made specifically to fit together in a early vintage yogurt making set which consisted of a covered ‘cocotte’ placed in a warm cupboard or pantry that would keep the fermenting dairy at a steady temperature.
In present days, these charming jars can be used to serve yogurt, dessert custards or panna cotta. 6 cm tall and 6 cm in diameter - sold as a set of 4. 1920s-1950s.
