My favorite tomato knife in my kitchen at Rabbit Hill -- with a sharp serrated blade and just the right grip. It is the only knife I reach for to slice evenly through tomato skins when making salads and salsa. It also handles thick bread crusts, cucumber and raw peppers like a pro!
The Opinel company has manufactured and marketed a line of eponymous wooden-handled knives since 1890 from its headquarters in Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne, Savoie, France. An essential in the French Kitchen, Opinel knives are made of both high carbon and stainless steel, the latter being the highest quality Sandvik steel from Sweden.
