Beautifully weighted and silver-plated, this rare antique oil lamp was traditionally used to melt wax for sealing letters—an elegant piece of French desk ritual. With a hinged lid and smooth, rounded form, it feels just as at home on a writing table as it does styled into a tablescape or tucked into a cabinet of vintage silver.
Heavy for its size and beautifully patinated, it no longer functions as a lamp (wick and fuel would need replacement) but remains a striking object of form and history.
