Antique French Copper Pâtisserie Mold — c. 1880–1910

Antique French Copper Pâtisserie Mold — c. 1880–1910

$295.00

A charming antique French copper pâtisserie mold with eight individual designs arranged around a central flower. Each form is different, including shells, scrolling shapes, a fluted round and geometric designs, creating an assortment of small molded pastries and desserts from a single pan.

Traditionally used in French pastry kitchens, molds like this combined practical function with beautiful craftsmanship. This one can be put back to work for small cakes and molded desserts, while the brass hanging ring makes it equally appealing displayed on a kitchen wall when not in use.

The entire mold has been professionally restored using traditional artisan methods, including careful polishing of the copper and a completely new hand-applied tin lining, returning it to beautiful, functional culinary condition.

  • 28 cm diameter, with nine individual molded designs

  • Hand-worked copper with rolled rim and brass hanging ring

  • Professionally restored with a completely new traditional tin lining

Dating & attribution: We date this French copper pâtisserie mold to approximately 1880–1910, based on its hand-worked and repoussé copper construction, rolled rim, hanging-ring attachment, materials and form, together with documented examples of French culinary molds from this period. Age is assessed through the form, construction, materials, workmanship, decorative style and natural signs of age and use.
