Primative 19th Century Porcelain Pitcher

Primative 19th Century Porcelain Pitcher

$58.00

I was immediately drawn to this early blue and white cream jug. From the early 1800s it shows fabrication marks and rustic handmade character. I'd fill it with a handful of bright flowers from the summer garden—zinnias, chamomile, sweet peas or herbs—and let its age and character shine. The hand-painted decoration, slightly uneven shape and the little firing marks around the rim are exactly the details that remind us it was made by hand and has been part of someone's kitchen for generations.

  • Approximately 12 cm tall.

  • Hand-painted blue and white porcelain.

  • Details of early porcelain production with original firing evidence and hand-finished marks and a small firing line at the handle attachment, typical of early hand-finished porcelain. This is a piece for someone who loves this kind of character and authenticity in very old porcelain pieces.
