Not only are standard tea bags not biodegradable and end up in land-fills and our oceans, according to recent research, when standard tea bags are soaked in hot water, some tea bags—particularly those composed of nylon or PET—can leak microplastics into the tea. Several health issues are linked to consuming microplastics.
This a box of (100) organic tea filters made from abaca pulp, cellulose and sealing fibers, guaranteeing true-flavor filtering. They are chlorine-free and biodegradable. Without glue or any other type of binding agent. The expanding base of the filter provides the tea leaves enough room for their flavor to fully unfold.
Dimensions: 18 cm x 7 cm - can be used for a large mug (1 tablespoon of loose tea) or a full pot (2-3 tablespoons of tea). Fill each filter and fold over. The bag self seals and expands as the tea steeps. Each tea bag can be used/refreshed for a second cup. Use with fresh herbs like mint or lemon verbena fresh from the garden or your favorite dry leaf blend; these are absolutely perfect for finer teas too or ground mixtures.
