Antique Artisan Made Copper Daubiere
A daubiere is used for slow stewing of meats and roasts or vegetable stews after braising on the stovetop. Covered in broth or liquid, the snug lid seals in the steam and condensation while cooking. Used for centuries in hearths and kitchens. The daubiere is also excellent for poaching.
Dimensions: 30 cm x 18 cm x 13 cm oblong. Double copper handles, snug lid. Approx. 4 liters. Late 1800s.
