French Pewter Covered Tureen
A beautiful old pewter covered tureen with a pedestal base and ring handles. The repeated fleur-de-lis marks on the lid and interior are a lovely detail. A great piece for the table, kitchen, or simply displayed on a shelf.

Dating & attribution: France, 19th century (c.1870s); dating supported by the construction and fleur-de-lis marks and their placement on the piece
While no longer recommended for serving food, it is a wonderful way to bring a genuine piece of 19th-century French history into everyday living. (In my home you would find it holding a baby-tears fern in my salle de bain or filled with autumn blooms is a rustic floral display.)

As with all vintage and antique items, please look closely at the details in the images. We note breakage or chips if apparent, but the patina which is inherent of age, or wear from 50-100+ years of existence and use -- is assumed for older pieces and is not considered a flaw or defect.
