A stately 19th-century French pewter tureen, c.1880, distinguished by its domed lid topped with a finial, and subtle fleur-de-lys hallmark pressed into the surface on the underside.
Pewter pieces of this scale were once prized in French households for both practical and special occasion table setting use. Today, it makes a striking display piece — perfect for a holiday table, sideboard, or as part of a collection of antique French pewter (a mixture of copper and tin without lead).
