French Pewter Covered Tureen
A beautiful mid-19th century French pewter tureen that has gracefully transitioned from the dining table to the world of timeless home décor. Once used to present soups, stews and braised dishes at the table, today it makes a striking decorative vessel. Display it as a cachepot with a favorite fern or trailing ivy, fill it with seasonal branches or dried hydrangeas, or simply let it stand on its own as a sculptural centerpiece on a harvest table, sideboard or kitchen island.
While no longer recommended for serving food, it is a wonderful way to bring a genuine piece of 19th-century French history into everyday living. (In my home you would find it holding a baby-tears fern in my salle de bain).

• Details: Stamped with a fleur de lys on the underside. Decorative use recommended.

As with all vintage and antique items, please look closely at the details in the images. We note breakage or chips if apparent, but the patina which is inherent of age, or wear from 50-100+ years of existence and use -- is assumed for older pieces and is not considered a flaw or defect.
