A beautiful Art Deco watering can in solid copper, with that fabulous sweeping handle and long narrow spout giving it almost a sculptural shape.
It is a practical little watering can for houseplants and pots, but I think it is just as good simply sitting on a shelf or tucked among plants in a conservatory or den.
Dimensions — approximately 31 × 27 cm overall
Origin — France; solid copper with rolled details, long tapered spout and large arched handle
Approx. age — Art Deco period, c. 1920s. Dating is approximate and based on the streamlined form, construction, materials and design characteristics consistent with French domestic pieces of the period.
It shows the small marks and irregularities expected from age and use, all part of its character.
