Traditional Hammered Copper Confiture Pan

Traditional Hammered Copper Confiture Pan

$395.00

A stunning vintage confiture basin, fully restored to its original brilliance at Rabbit Hill. Hand-hammered copper with a warm, reflective finish and robust iron handles, this piece was made in Villedieu, Normandy—long celebrated for its copper craftsmanship.

  • Diameter: 40 cm.

  • Capacity: 15 liters.

  • Solid copper with iron handles.

  • Traditional French jam-making pan, equally beautiful as a decorative kitchen piece.

Copper confiture pans are exceptional for jam and preserve making thanks to their rapid, even heat conduction, which allows fruit to cook quickly without scorching—preserving fresh flavor, vibrant color, and delicate texture.

Typically unlined, copper jam pans efficiently thicken by the exposure to the pure copper surface and have been used for centuries by chefs, cooks and pastry chefs. The exposure to the pure copper surface is both safe and essential for expert jam making and stewing fruits for preservation with many benefits including the natural antimicrobial quality of copper.
